Thankfull...My girls were both deemed to have ADHD. Thankfully, I didn't immediately succumb to the pressure to medicate them, but educated myself. Part of that education was received when they were accepted into the GATE program (Gifted and Talented Education). At the orientation meeting, the room was filled with posters depicting all of the characteristics which got my girls labelled ADHD but here, they were shown as common characteristics of a gifted child! I was really glad I didn't give them drugs, and have seen the effect on some of their friends who did receive them. Not good! I've also heard, since then, that there are many natural ways to keep your child from completely running amok. (I acutally used to give my daughters a little coffee in their milk in the morning, and it made a huge difference in their ability to concentrate!) Good luck with Declan.
